Overview

Table renders tabular data with headers, rows, and configurable column widths.

Examples:

state = RubyTUI::Widgets::TableState.new
table = RubyTUI::Widgets::Table.new(header: ["Name", "Size"],
                                    rows: [["a.txt", "1K"], ["b.txt", "2K"]],
                                    widths: [20, 8])
frame.render_stateful_widget(table, area, state)

Constructor Details

#initialize(header: nil, rows: [], widths: [], style: Style::DEFAULT, header_style: nil, highlight_style: nil, highlight_symbol: "> ", column_spacing: 1, block: nil) ⇒ Table

Returns a new instance of Table.

Parameters:

  • header (Array<String, Span, #to_s>, nil) (defaults to: nil) —

    header cells, each converted to a Span; when set, a header row and a separator line are drawn (default: nil)

  • rows (Array<Array<String, Span, #to_s>>) (defaults to: []) —

    data rows (default: [])

  • widths (Array<Integer>) (defaults to: []) —

    column widths in cells; when empty, the available width is split equally across the columns of header, or of the first row (default: [])

  • style (Style) (defaults to: Style::DEFAULT) —

    base row style (default: Style::DEFAULT)

  • header_style (Style, nil) (defaults to: nil) —

    style of the header row and separator (default: bold cyan foreground)

  • highlight_style (Style, nil) (defaults to: nil) —

    patched onto style for the selected row (default: bold yellow foreground)

  • highlight_symbol (String) (defaults to: "> ") —

    prefix of the selected row; other rows and the header are prefixed with spaces of the same width (default: "> ")

  • column_spacing (Integer) (defaults to: 1) —

    blank cells between columns (default: 1)

  • block (Widgets::Block, nil) (defaults to: nil) —

    optional wrapping block

Instance Method Details

#render(area, buf, state) ⇒ void

This method returns an undefined value.

Render the header, separator and visible rows.

Clamps state.selected to the row range and adjusts state.offset in place so the selected row is visible. Cell text is truncated to its column width; explicit widths are not reduced to fit the area.

Parameters:

  • area (Rect) —

    the rectangular area to render into

  • buf (Buffer) —

    the buffer to write cells into

  • state (TableState) —

    selection and scroll state, updated in place
