#create_dashboard(request, options = nil) ⇒ ::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard #create_dashboard(parent: nil, dashboard: nil, validate_only: nil) ⇒ ::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard

Creates a new custom dashboard. For examples on how you can use this API to create dashboards, see Managing dashboards by API. This method requires the monitoring.dashboards.create permission on the specified project. For more information about permissions, see Cloud Identity and Access Management.

Examples:

Basic example

require "google/cloud/monitoring/dashboard/v1"

# Create a client object. The client can be reused for multiple calls.
client = Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::DashboardsService::Rest::Client.new

# Create a request. To set request fields, pass in keyword arguments.
request = Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::CreateDashboardRequest.new

# Call the create_dashboard method.
result = client.create_dashboard request

# The returned object is of type Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard.
p result

Overloads:

  • #create_dashboard(request, options = nil) ⇒ ::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard

    Pass arguments to create_dashboard via a request object, either of type CreateDashboardRequest or an equivalent Hash.

    Parameters:

    • request (::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::CreateDashboardRequest, ::Hash)

      A request object representing the call parameters. Required. To specify no parameters, or to keep all the default parameter values, pass an empty Hash.

    • options (::Gapic::CallOptions, ::Hash) (defaults to: nil)

      Overrides the default settings for this call, e.g, timeout, retries etc. Optional.

  • #create_dashboard(parent: nil, dashboard: nil, validate_only: nil) ⇒ ::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard

    Pass arguments to create_dashboard via keyword arguments. Note that at least one keyword argument is required. To specify no parameters, or to keep all the default parameter values, pass an empty Hash as a request object (see above).

    Parameters:

    • parent (::String) (defaults to: nil)

      Required. The project on which to execute the request. The format is:

      projects/[PROJECT_ID_OR_NUMBER]

      The [PROJECT_ID_OR_NUMBER] must match the dashboard resource name.

    • dashboard (::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard, ::Hash) (defaults to: nil)

      Required. The initial dashboard specification.

    • validate_only (::Boolean) (defaults to: nil)

      If set, validate the request and preview the review, but do not actually save it.

Yields:

  • (result, operation)

    Access the result along with the TransportOperation object

Yield Parameters:

Returns:

Raises:

  • (::Google::Cloud::Error)

    if the REST call is aborted.

# Create a client object. The client can be reused for multiple calls.
client = Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::DashboardsService::Rest::Client.new

# Create a request. To set request fields, pass in keyword arguments.
request = Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::UpdateDashboardRequest.new

# Call the update_dashboard method.
result = client.update_dashboard request

# The returned object is of type Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard.
p result

Overloads:

  • #update_dashboard(request, options = nil) ⇒ ::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard

    Pass arguments to update_dashboard via a request object, either of type UpdateDashboardRequest or an equivalent Hash.

    Parameters:

    • request (::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::UpdateDashboardRequest, ::Hash)

Optional.

  • #update_dashboard(dashboard: nil, validate_only: nil) ⇒ ::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard

    Pass arguments to update_dashboard via keyword arguments. Note that at least one keyword argument is required. To specify no parameters, or to keep all the default parameter values, pass an empty Hash as a request object (see above).

    Parameters:

    • dashboard (::Google::Cloud::Monitoring::Dashboard::V1::Dashboard, ::Hash) (defaults to: nil)

      Required. The dashboard that will replace the existing dashboard.

    • validate_only (::Boolean) (defaults to: nil)

      If set, validate the request and preview the review, but do not actually save it.

Yields:

  • (result, operation)

    Access the result along with the TransportOperation object

Yield Parameters:

Returns:

Raises:

  • (::Google::Cloud::Error)

    if the REST call is aborted.
