Ribit – Wiki for Mobiles

This application provides ruby based Wiki implementation that relies to XHTML basic. The goal is provide Wiki that can be browsed using normal fullblown desktop browsers and also with browsers in different mobile devices.

Backup and restoring

Ribit uses CVS to store page history. The ribit creates a local CVSROOT for content data. Here is a simple procedure to restore data (in future there will a script)

  • Make backup from CVSROOT.

  • Open console

  • cd to ribit config dir where ‘content’ directory is located.

  • Run: cvs -d <path_to_your_cvsroot> update -R -f -A -D <DATE in format “yyyy-mm-dd HH:MM:SS GMT”> content

  • Delete all CVS folders under ‘content’

  • Delete CVSROOT

  • Restart Ribit, it creates a new CVSROOT and imports data
