GemfileLocker
Tool to manage Gemfile. Lock and unlock all dependencies for safe bundle update.
GemfileLocker can lock all dependencies strictly or semi-strictly (with ~>),
so it gets safe to run bundle update anytime.
It can also unlock all dependencies so you can easily update to the latest versions.
Installation
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'gemfile_locker'
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install gemfile_locker
Usage
gemfile_locker help
gemfile_locker lock # Lock all missing versions
Options:
--loose/-l [full|patch|minor|major] # Lock with ~>
--force/-f # Lock all gems
--skip/-s # Skip this gems
--only/-o # Lock only this gems
gemfile_locker unlock # unlock all
Options:
--skip/-s # Skip this gems
--only/-o # Unlock only this gems
Development
After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies.
Then, run rake spec to run the tests.
You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install.
To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb,
and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version,
push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
