Decisive

DSL for rendering CSVs

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'decisive'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install decisive

Usage

Example usage:

# app/controllers/users_controller.rb

class UsersController < ApplicationController
  def index
    @users = User.all
  end
end
# app/views/users/index.csv.decisive

@filename = "users-#{Time.zone.now.strftime("%Y_%m_%d")}.csv"
@records = @users

column :email
column :name, label: "Full name"
column :signed_up do |user|
  user.created_at.to_date
end

Then visit /users.csv to get file named "users-2010_01_01.csv" with the following contents:

Email,Full name,Signed up
[email protected],"Frodo Baggins",2010-01-01
[email protected],"Samwise Gamgee",2010-01-01

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
