ChinookDatabase

ActiveRecord wrapper classes to the sample SQLite database as described here: https://chinookdatabase.codeplex.com/. Useful for using as test fixtures or development.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

group :development, :test do
  gem 'chinook_database'
end  

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install chinook_database

Usage

require 'chinook_database'
ActiveRecord::Base.establish_connection adapter: 'sqlite3', database: ChinookDatabase.path

Album.count
# => 347

Artist.count
# => 275

Customer.count
# => 59

Employee.count
# => 8

Genre.count
# => 25

Invoice.count
# => 412

InvoiceLine.count 
# => 2240

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release to create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
