Brotli is a Ruby implementation of the Brotli generic-purpose lossless compression algorithm that compresses data using a combination of a modern variant of the LZ77 algorithm, Huffman coding and 2nd order context modeling, with a compression ratio comparable to the best currently available general-purpose compression methods. It is similar in speed with deflate but offers more dense compression.
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

$ gem install brotli
require 'brotli' compressed = .(string) decompressed = .(compressed)
After checking out the repo, run
bin/setup to install bundle and Brotli C library dependencies.
rake build to build brotli extension for ruby. Then, run
rake spec to run the tests. You can also run
bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run
bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in
version.rb, and then run
bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the
.gem file to rubygems.org.
