ActiveRecordInCache

ActiveRecordInCache provides a method to execute SQL while automatically caching.

:package: Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'active_record_in_cache'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install active_record_in_cache

:memo: Usage

Add a line to include ActiveRecordInCache::Methods as below:

class ApplicationRecord < ActiveRecord::Base
  include ActiveRecordInCache::Methods

  self.abstract_class = true
end

You can call the in_cache method at the end of the chain.

Article.all.in_cache
# SELECT MAX("articles"."updated_at") FROM "articles"
# SELECT "articles".* FROM "articles"
#=> #<ActiveRecord::Relation ...>

Article.all.in_cache
# SELECT MAX("articles"."updated_at") FROM "articles"
#=> #<ActiveRecord::Relation ...>

Automatically check maximum(:updated_at) and use the cache if it exists.

:star: Implementation
